Andrea Ward, dancer / choreographer, is from Sarasota, Florida. Her passion for choreography began at age eight and continued to develop under the direction of artists such as Tzveta Kassabova and Teddy Tedholm, as well as Jeffrey Docimo of the Isodoc Dance Group. Andrea also studied with Winifred Burnet-Smith of Hofesh Shechter Company and Cindy Salgado of Kidd Pivot.
Music plays a central role in Andrea's work, and she often composes her own music to accompany her choreography. She's currently recording an album that will be the basis for dance works to come.
Andrea teaches throughout the U.S., with recent performances in the NYC-based Young Choreographer's Festival, the JChen Project's TRANSLATE, and the 2016 & 2017 Capezio Ace Awards. She's had the privilege of being the Center for World Arts/Harn Museum Choreographer-in-Residence at the University of Florida. She's also presented her short film "Still Light" in the 2016 Annual Dance on Camera Film Festival at the Lincoln Center in New York City.
