About National Dance Week©
National Dance Week is celebrated each year with thousands of events held in small towns and large cities throughout the United States. Master classes, gala performances, library presentations and museum displays are just a sampling of the types of activities which are mounted in honor of NDW. Kickoff events, too, are frequently the event of choice and are held on the steps of state capitols to town halls, shopping malls to town squares.
There is a growing presence of NDW festivities on school campuses and classrooms, therapeutic settings, community folk art festivities, and liturgical services. From open houses in small studios to large scale productions in theaters the NDW celebrations continue to bring a heightened awareness of dance to America as it exists today.
National Dance Week is proudly sponsored by United Dance Merchants of America.
